Virginia Women’s Basketball Rolls Over Demon Deacons
On February 3, the Virginia Women’s Basketball team took on Wake Forest in an important ACC match up. The Cavaliers won the game 73-46. Ataira Franklin, Telia McCall, and China Crosby carried Virginia, all scoring in double figures. Franklin scored all 12 of her points in the second half. The Cavaliers went on a 12-4 run to start the second half and continued to build on their lead. Postgame, head coach Debbie Ryan said “tonight we transferred what we’d been doing in practice to the floor.”
Wahoo Wire Editor’s note: This past Monday saw a heartbreaking 78-74 loss to #14 Florida State which left the Lady Cavaliers 13-12 overall (2-7 ACC) and in tenth place in the ACC. With five games left until the ACC tournament, each game will be a must win if they want a shot at the NCAA Tournament. There next game is tonight at 7pm at NC State and their next home game is Sunday, February 20th at 1pm versus Boston College.
